I was dazed and confused when a doctor casually mentioned, “I think you have Ehlers Danlos.” I didn't know where to start, or what chronic illness meant for me - wondering how my life would change and what my new normal would look like. I was exhausted after navigating genetics and all the other specialists for the comorbidities EDS goes hand in hand with, but when I started using integrative health and somatics, I noticed a substantial difference in my health. Nervous system dysregulation is a root cause of a multitude of autoimmune diseases staying dysregulated for far too long. By retraining my limbic brain and feeling safe in my body it helped me go from surviving to thriving.
